code 8?

8 TDC - top dead centre sensor

Why does it thorw that code? And how do i fix this problem? Its a Crx with a b16a swap and its gots obd1 wiring p28 ecu.

Yes either the TDC sensor inside the distributor is bad, or else the wiring to the distributor is faulty/jacked up.

Has the car ran fine up until recently and the CEL came on, or has it thrown this CEL the whole time since the swap?
