I have a 2000 accord v6. I'm having trouble with the car over heating a stop lights. After a couple weeks the coolant level drops very low and the engine will begin to over heat. I have had it at a honda shop several times and they just keep telling me there are no leaks and that it's overheating because of the coolant level. I'm assuming it's burning off the coolant somewhere. The only known problem i have is an O 2 sensor but i wouldn't think that would cause it. If anyone has any ideas let know.

 

Do your fans come on?

My guess is they don't. Wire both of the fans directly to the battery and verify they're both functional.

 

yeah both of my fans work we have tried most of the obvious stuff like that i prolly should of mentioned that... If i take a trip of 75 miles or so it will burn off a significant amount of coolant. We just replaced the radiator cap thinking it was doing it but that didn't help. And NO we can not smell antifreeze inside or outside the car.

 

Yep always helps to say what you've tested.

I'm guessing you've already checked the fan relay?

Thermostat?
