just got my transmission in and having a little problem downshifting to 2nd.
ok so its a 98 itr tranny with stock lsd. it shifts and runs like a freakin' dream. my only complaint or problem is when im downshifting to second. i was told it was normal.. but how much of it is normal??
example:
i will cruising up to a pretty slow corner "like turning onto a street" in 3-5th gear. depends how fast im going and it happens downshifting from either gear, and i go to shift into second to not only engine break into the corner and pull out of the corner midway like i like to so much and it just kinda gets stuck at the gate. and i have to double clutch and kinda force it into the gear..
would really like to know if this is normal on these trannys' and if its ok that i double clutch into second like that on a downshift. i spent a pretty penny on this pretty tranny and i would be so mad and sad if im screw it up.

i shouldn't be allowed near vehicles if i forgot to add fluid to this beautiful tranny..

What rpm and what gear are you downshifting from? What rpm are you at when you get it into second?
If you're doing a major downshift (like 4000 rpm in 5th), I'd say that's normal. If you're doing a minor one (like low rpm 3rd to 2nd), I'd say that's not normal.

My down shifts are probably around 3-4k in third gear into second.
Jesus... a down shift from fifth gear of around 4k into second? I'm not trying to grenade both my transmission and motor..

i would say where did the tranny come from? if its from a person ask if they had any issues but ide say mayb a linkage problem...
