Need help with chain and sprocket selection(77 750-4)
I know there are a few of you guys on here that tinker with older bikes and as the title states I am in need of a new chain and a front sprocket. The rear looks fine(no bent or curved teeth so if I could get away with keeping it for a while I would like to. I am aware that they should both probably be changed when replacing the chain.
The bike is a 1977 Honda 750-four, the old chain broke a roller at the master link and as I search the vast array of chains and the minimal support of sprockets I and kinda at a loss.
So far the stock specs are:
Chain: 630QR at 44 links( I would prefer to find an o-ring chain but have heard good and bad about them on the older bikes) and from all of the other specs I have found it came stock with a 530
Front sprocket: 15 tooth, I would like to go up a tooth and lower my highway R's
Rear: 41 tooth maybe go down 2 or 3 teeth, again for highway travel.
Does anyone have any input on this that might steer me in the right direction?

You can get 530, or 520 sprockets from sprocket specialists if you want to go smaller, in a range of sizes.
If you want to reuse the sprockets then flip them over.

I would never reuse sprockets since they are just as much of a wear and tear item as the chain. A chain sprocket combo work together and wear together. Go 520 since the price probably won't be any different and it'll save a little rotating weight. As for the chain, go with an x-ring chain (DID gets a

does anyone know where I can get a 530 chain and sprocket conversion kit for this bike?
So far all i can find is a rear sprocket and chain from sunstar and DID, I can't seem to find a front and I have been looking all day. I kind of figured that I would have to piece something together and I would like to stay with steel sprockets for the sake of wear and maintenance.

I'm not sure where you can get the front but a hard anodized sproket is just as strong as a steel. Also, front sprockets only come in steel.
