b18c1 stock should i put a b16a head?
ask title stated should i leave it stock or should i put the b16 head on? will it make more power? please give me a good advice of what should i do? thank you in advance
If my memory serves me correctly, the b16 head is real similar to the type-r head...hence they call a b18 block with a b16 head a poorman's type-r

If all you're doing is swapping heads then you will LOSE power.
"But why?"
The B16A cylinder head has larger combustion chambers, which lower compression when installed on an otherwise stock GS-R engine. The GS-R engine has lower compression height pistons, but makes it's 10:1 (or 10.6:1 JDM) compression up by having smaller combustion cylinder head chambers.
True the B16A head is the same casting as the Type R, but unless you also swap pistons in that GS-R engine it'll lose compression and thus lose power.
B16A and Type R engines utilize higher compression height/domed pistons than the GS-R engine due to the different sized combustion chambers in the heads.

wasn't there a really good thread on this a few days ago? the bottom line was something like: flow is similar but the quench pads in the p72 head make it more compression friendly?
