Default Saying Hi, Showing my tank.

Saying hi to everyone on the forum.

I've been driving this 1994 Accord EX 5 speed for about 2 months now and have been loving it.

Yes the entire exterior is tastefully covered in rhinoliner. The car is simply put, a tank.

Its a 1994 ex with a 96 obdII f22b1 converted to obdI with about 150k on it, and is one of the smoothest 4 cylinders I have ever driven. Previous owner told me that it was the smoothest accord engine he's felt and I believe it. It had Mobil 1 ran through all its life and it burns NOTHING and leaks NOTHING. When I say nothing, I mean nothing. In fact it has a ~year old full muffler man exhaust, and when this thing idles, I seriously have a hard time knowing if its even running or not, its that smooth.

After some minor routine tune-up items, and various cleaning ups, the car is amazing.
Some people might look at the car and think the interior is wasted, but in fact, quite the opposite. While it had its share of dirt (this car was used as a tank), it is in great condition and everything is there and in great shape. After a few shampoo's, proper vinyl/rubber resto, it looks fantastic.

I average 4-5 people a day who make a effort to stop and talk to me about the car.

The car will continue to get the tank treatment. After replacing/tuning up alot of new pieces, I stripped the trunk (it seemed to have had some moisture build up and began showing signs of rust... rust is not allowed on this Honda). I then re-sprayed it with... you guessed it, truck bed liner.

Being a first time Honda owner, I now am a firm believer that these are some of the best built cars on the road. The previous owner drove this in the UPPER upper peninsula of Michigan, on logging roads, and yet its rolling around happy as can be.

Just wanted to share my thoughts, and my car.

Hi Mike, if you read this.

Anyways... enough about it.

Nope, only the opposite.

You should know I bought it like it is, and paid $625 for it.

Keep hating my rat rod Honda. I kind of like being able to smack my door with a hammer and have it not do anything.

Function > Form.

Unless you have a rhino lined exterior, I wouldn't suggest it. And I said it as an example of the reason to have a rhino lined exterior, not that I do it for fun.

Do some people not know what rhino liner is (and how strong it can be)?

Lots of hate on this forum.

Hate hate hate.

If the "hate" bothers you, nobody is making you stay and/or return.

On the other hand, it looks like a turd. But, for $600 you get what you pay for, and if it runs, and you like it then to you. It's far from a "rat rod", however.

I like how everyone thinks this car was rhino-lined in an attempt to make it look "good". That was not the intention.

If you call a car a turd because it's not shiny... well then you aren't much of a car person.

Also I hope people realize that this car is my DD beater/ Winter beater...

Most people think its cool for what it is... I don't know why people are making it a point to tell me it looks like ****... I know! Unique **** that is.

Agreed, but it works awfully well as for a Honda in Michigan that is driven in the winter, to absolutely positively prevent something we around here call "Honda Rot". Plus no door dings, rock dings, key scratches, etc, etc.

I like it for what it is, a rhino-lined Accord.

I bought it like it is anyway.

I didn't ask anyone whether or not they like this BETTER than paint. How did that come into the conversation? It shouldn't have.

BTW I hate paint on cars. Completely unpractical.
