98-1040 Rebuild...Take Two
Believe it or not the caR looks great in pictures in terms of paint. However, almost the entire exterior has a film on it. The whole car has hail dents all over it, along with the Pass. fender having two fist size dents it is. CW is awesome for hiding stuff, Black doesn't hide a thing.

It will be driving long before its road worthy in terms of exterior. Chris is handling the head package and trans build. I plan to meet with him soon and give him a fat check to get the ball started. I still need swap parts, altenator, starter, int. shaft, trans brace, shifter, shift linkage, and I'm going to place a large order from Len for a bunch of items: Distributor, top end gasket kit, vtec solenoid parts, and a slew of little things. Marc(BlueR) is sourcing me a clutch, brake lines, IM, Throttle body, among other things. It will take time, hopefully not too long. Trust me, it adds up quick to astronomical numbers. It is going to take good while before the car will have a new front end and seats, those are getting pushed back towards the later stages. PIC at one point will get an order for a new coilover setup along with a bushing kit in one shape or form. Long term I would like to have the opportunity for Jack to tune it, so I plan on running Hondata. In a nut shell, that is about it.

That was the very cool thing about Mark. He didn't have to sell me the caR and I didn't pressure it. I asked him to think about and he called me two days later and said he would. It was a very simple and straight forward transaction and I have nothing but good things to say about him. I wish him the best with his other caR that he has been working on. It fired up for the first time last week.

Can it not be both?
The plans are simple: Effective car for weekend "spirited" driving, aka therapy, and track day/weekends. Once the car is completed I plan on pursuing more track events, minimum of 2-4 a year. The car is going to be an all around vehicle though. That limited amount of track time does not justify a rollbar, fixed seats, harnesses etc. I'v been there done that, and I ended up driving the car less than I wanted to. I want AC(if I can), and I want a stock(ish) interior that I and my girlfriend can drive in comfortably. That sounds pansy, but driving ~10hrs to VIR by yourself isn't fun-I'v done it. Driving to VIR in 100+ temps isn't fun either, I'v done that too. I want a car I can enjoy on and off the track, and also enjoy on the way to and from the track.

I will be following your rebuild thread as you do mine.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
