i've got a b16a jdm engine need to do an oil change since my swap is now 3 months old. what wieght oil do you suggest?

 

stock jdm....10w30 mobil or 5w depending on where you live

 

i live in NC so in the summer it doesn't get above 95 and in the winter the ive seen it was the high teens so i bought 10-40 i figured i got the right stuff but wanted to make sure

 

(not trying to jack the thread) I burn a lot of oil from my valve stems/seals from what I am told - about a quart every other tank of gas.

Would adding a heavier oil make a bit of difference or should I stick with 10-30 throughout the Michigan winter?
