turbo b18a1 vs lsvtec
The common misconception, which you address in your poll, is reliability of the turbo'd stock engine. If you build it correctly with quality parts, your reliability should be almost that of a totally stock engine. For example, i ran my stock block GSR for 2 years at 315whp as my daily driver. I never had any problems other than an occasional oil leak.
Search the Forced Induction forum for a while and you'll get a good handle on how many of us actually drive turbo'd stock daily drivers.
Also, if you're looking at this in a purely performance standpoint, the LS/VTEC won't touch a turbo LS...

turbo ls ftw. can be just as reliable as anything else and like schister said ls/vtec wouldnt put out anything in comparsion for performance.

im running 11.8:1 comp. and went as far as ordering a PeakBoost Kit over the summer. i backed out at the last second bc i opted for reliability and i didnt wanna blow my **** up. i considered keeping the lb's low but then i thought whats the point. so once you build you can look at it as not going back. if i were to start another project, i would boost the crap out of an LS since i havent done that yet.
