Default Tire tech Q - sidewall bubble

One of the el cheapo tires on the Turbo Pig has a small bubble in the sidewall, near where the "main tread" begins - towards the edge of the tire. It's only about the size of a quarter stretched to the sides a bit - oval in shape.

I know that's not ideal, but should I be shopping for new tires *right now* instead of in a few weeks? Just street/interstate driving, nothing too saucy...

How likely is the tire to fail?

if you have a bubble...doesn't that mean you snapped the belts inside the tire...
i'd get new tires right away rather than risking a blowout...jmho

Idealy, yes, you should get new tires, but if you drive reasonably, and don't over load your car, I'd say you'd be ok as long as the bubble doesn't get much bigger... But still, I'd make sure the air pressure in the spare was good, and all the tools were handy just incase...

Taking a short road trip this weekend (250 mi), so I might just swap the 16's back on. Argh!

Must... order... tires...
