hit and run on my 96 civic
So i just had some mommy mobile strike the front bumper of my car. screwed it up bad. Would a 99 civic EX OE bumper fit on my 96 civic EX coupe directly...or would i have to mod the brackets in some way.

im pretty sure to get a 99 bumper to fit your 96, you need the headlights, fenders, and hood from a 99.

Care cup... \_/ clearly empty.
jk
Damn that sucks dude, that would **** me off. Just get a new 98 bumper, and take it to maaco. They're doing a national special, 99 dollars for a bumper. It's a 3 stage... or 2 stage job, includes clear coat. Just ask for the extra wet sanding for like 25 dollars. I'd post pics of mine but......... eh let me know if you want them.

let me clarify... a 99 bumper WOULD fit. it just wouldn't line up with the fender, hood, or headlights. it'll fit though. It just won't line up with anything.
honestly though, thats repairable........ go get a blow dryer and heat it up. Once it's hot enough, just push it out with your hands. should pop right out. Good luck.

The bumper is cracked underneath if you look at the first picture by the tip... and maybe I sound like a greedy m.f., but i'd rather have a completely redone FB with some clear Raybrig fogs. Preciate the lookout.

As you can see from the photos, no, you cannot just replace the '96-'98 bumper with a '99-'00 bumper.

There are several DIYs for the front end conversion if you want to do it.

Which means NO, it will NOT fit.
If you take the front end panels off, yeah, it will fit. But what freaking good would that do for him?
"Will the square peg fit in the round hole?"
You: "Yes, but it won't line up."

The '99-'00 bumper won't fit with the '96-'98 headlights, grille, fenders or hood. Look in the thread I linked
Sorry, but I'm tired of seeing this argument that things "will fit even though they won't fit".

OP, before you look for a replacement bumper, I'd suggest you take the current one off and first try to pop it back into place.
When you have the bumper off, check to make sure the metal underneath is in good condition. I'd be most worried that the metal support under the headlight could have gotten bent.

I dont know if you have any certa-fits around your area but i got my whole front end for a 99-00 civic for 125. Its oem knockoffs the fenders and hood come primered and i believe the bumper is abs. That sucks tho time to upgrade
shitty deal same just happened to me got side swiped on my street and ended up having to replace the upper and lower control arm front left quater panel and front bumper 96-98 should fit fine

Um... not really a good comparison. At all.
I wasn't being too in detail. You were just being wrong.
In the example you gave you were saying I'd be very specific, while you (or others) might be much more broad with your words.
