Default Project S2000 underway

Well i bought a 2000 S2000 from a guy who said it needed "engine work". He said his girlfriend downshifted from 6th to 2nd and spun a bearing. Come to find out when i get it home, it has 2 8 inch holes blasted through both sides of the block. Luckily i bought an engine anyways in hopes that i relace the tired one with a "spun bearing" with this engine with 60K on it. Then rebuild the original as a spare, or to resell. Well thats not happening, LOL maybe the head will be good but thats about it.

Anwyays here is how i pulled up to my house, its late sorry about the crappy pic.

id like to thank Avis rent-a-car for letting be tow this car all around LA, and for pulling my engine and parts in the back of.

So the first thing i did was take off the intake, alternator, loosten some stuff etc. then jacked it up and started looking at the engine and how im going to get it out.

then i found this cool surprise, the engine not only spun a bearing, but threw a rod LOL. poor f20

so tonight was an early night, only got in about 4 hours but i made good progress. i think i can get the engine out without removing the tranny, but i dont think i can get the new engine back in. the engine now is sitting real low because the 2 broken mounts. so i can get to the back top bolts, but i dont know if i can get in there with the new engine.

any expierience with that anyone?

more updates to follow, should have the engine out tomorow night, and the new one at least in and bolted up.

i hate fixing other peoples screw ups.

heres the pics of me taking it out last night.

all the motor mounts were ripped completly through, there was litteraly nothing holding the engine in except gravity LOL. now i am trying to find some mounts TODAY, decided to go with innovative mounts, there practically the same price.

More pics to follow, today im getting the mounts (hopefully), wiring up the new engine, and dropping it in.

the guy supposedly had the clutch changed 6 months ago, but this is the same dude that said there was a spun bearing. so i dont know, i havent pulled it off yet, so i cant tell how bad or good it is. im kinds low on funds so i think im going to just run that clutch, if thers a problem ill go with an exedy or something and change it out in a month or so. im kinda impatient LOL, i just wanna drive it.

i will however be changing the oil, tranny fluid, and rear diff fluid.

Any suggestions on those?

Why do you always put your name at the end of your posts? isnt that what the signature is for?

How's it going 'WTB- any color S2000 hard top'?

yea i ended up dropping the tranny first, after that the engine was out in 20 minutes. it still wasnt fun, i already miss b-series swaps LOL.

yea, whats funny is the dumbass that sold it to me said he got quoted 2200 to have the bottom end rebuilt!! what a dumbshit, like i wasnt going to notice the huge holes in the block

just a habit, didnt realize people would actually care. sorry to bother you LOL.

anways got the engine inlast night, i had to track down a clutch today, and yesterday i had to run all the way up to orange county to pick up a set of innovative mounts. by the way i bought them from a sponsor here http://www.hondamarketplace.co...24158.
the guy was unreal, not only did he get my mounts that were on backorder withing 5 hours. he met me at about 9pm to hand deliver them. i just wanted to say that because without him the engine would not be in there right now.

tonight im going to mount the cluch, and hopefull get the tranny mounted.

yea the "new one" was really scorched, plus the throwout bearing had a slight wobble and noise to it. so i luckily found a place that had an exedy replacment kit in stock, i had to spend 400 on it though.
