Cigarette lighter problem.. HELP
Hi guys!
So I have a 96 Accord and my cigarette lighter just does not work.
Im having a hard time taking it out to see what the problem may be, so does anyone know if there is some special way to do it? Or fix it?
Any suggestions, I would love to hear. THANKS!

Well see, it works for a couple seconds if I fiddle around with it enough.
I just need to know how to take it out so I can get a better look, cause Im 99% sure it has something to do with the wiring. Would you know how to take it out?
But thank you for that! I will check that as well.

you're gonna have to take out the entire radio console to take apart the cigarette lighter. you'd probably be able to see how it wires together and see what's wrong. it's pretty easy. good luck
Did you search before? Well anyways....
There might be a few reasons your cigarette lighter won't work.
-Your cig lighter is connected to the radio circuit. So it's part of your radio fuse. If you have an aftermarket radio on the car, most likely they unplug the radio harness because most aftermarket system will blow out that fuse. If the cigarette harness was unplug from the inside (behind the console) the fuse wouldn't break anymore. So this will most likely be the problem.
-You just might have a loose connection in the back. Best way to fix this is just to remove the console. A pretty easy job IMO. A few screws, not bad.
