huge huge electrical problems.. in desperate need of help.. tyring to get my car to this show tomorr
so i just finished up my car the other day.. here is the link to the thread i posted up on here... http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185843
anyways i did a wire tuck and when i put everything together everything worked fine.. they i hooked up my zero gauge power wire but didnt turn anything on for the amps or anything and i turned on the lights to the car with car on acceressory and when i do so the flip out screen keeps resetting itself.. a relay to i think my fuel pump keeps engaging.. the lights will turn on but dime way down.. clock dimes down to the point you can read it.. the gauge cluster temp gauge will go all the way up. gas gauge goes down when full.. and my digital read out batt terminal drops down to 8 volts.
so i have huge issuses.. probably something simple but huge cause i have checked everything i know how to do.. continuedy seems good.. voltage is at 14 when key is off..
so for the things i have done... i have a 4 gauge power wire running to the starter, alt and the engine bay fuse box which is now on side the car by the passenger kick panel. i have 2 4 gauge power wires run to the trunk with a cap. and one zero gauge wire about 3 feet long from the cowl to the battery. but i un hooked that when i came across this problem..
now i can say that this problem came up like 2 weeks ago.. and i think what i did to fix it was put a trickle charger on it for a day and i think i remember it fixing itself.. then the car worked fine for about a week.. i drove the car to the audio shop and brought it home and then i relocated the fuse for the power wire and put the fuse in but at the end of the zero gauge was not connected to anything.. but it was a live wire sitting in the cowl area laying on the paint.. (maybe shocked the car??) and then this problem started again.. i have spent about 6 hours trying to figure it out and nothing has come back broken..
but i have printed out a ton of electrical sheets off my shop key i have at the shop for dignosing it. all i have come up with is that the (intergrated control unit) controls the gauges. fuel pump and the lights i think if i remember right.. but most of those things are where my problems are.. but i called acura and the last time they sold one was 2 years ago.. and not to mention i dont know where it is located..
IF ANYONE HAS ANY ANSWERS, IDEAS PLEASE its getting cold here in nh and i have spent the last 6 months/5 years building this car and have only drove it 1000 miles so far.. i have missed every car show including the one that is sat the 20th.. :-( email acuraocd@comcast.net IM acuraocd or you can repspond to this thread...
thanks for your time of reading this long thread..
if you need any pics of where any of this stuff is located or what i have done. please feel free to ask.. also i think this happening after i put a fuse in 2 times is a coinsidence but..... on my note.. could i have fried some main modual/batt by running to much stuff on my battery mainly cause of these 4 gauge wires i ran.. i am not sure if i needed to run it to the fuse box and starter.. but i am running a 180 amp alt so i did have to do that...
