Default Just bought a new amp, and now its not receiving power any ideas guys???

I have an 18'' Cerwin Vega Stroker and I was using an Alpine V-power 200watt amp and getting no bass but the speaker was working when that amp was connected and that amp was getting power, I just today bought a Sony Xplode 1200watt amp so I could hear my speaker and finally hear my bass......and now the new 1200watt amp is not getting power anyone have in idea please

1.) Check the power cable fuse
2.) Check the amp's ground
3.) Check the remote turn on lead to the amp

yea check your fuses...possibly your previous fuses weren't strong enough to pull the amp and might have blown, check all your fuses, ground, and connection to the power cable on the battery. also the REM(remote) cable.

another way to check your amp is getting power get a cheap speaker you DON'T use and connect it, connect the other end either positive or negative to the power line connected to the amp and you should hear a pop or a noise....

A 12 volt light bulb or a multimeter is useful in place of an old speaker.

i always use a miltimeter because you get to see that actual voltage(able to check for voltage drops)

Theres a cheap one at harbor freight for $5 regular price....this past month they were on sale for $2 and they do work

Not only could you use it for this but if u work on your car any, you will need this for any type of electrical troubleshooting.

See if you are getting 12v at the amp and at the remote turn on lead.
Also double check your ground, 9/10 problems are because of that.
