Default MOTOR SWAP Problem with my ek d16

I swapped my d16y7 (non vtec) to a d16y8 (vtec) and I am using a p2p obdII ecu but spliced y7 harness are running with my motor right now. today I called a local jdm shop that does engine harnesses to get a estimate of how much to install new y8 harnesses and he told me "a p2p obdII with y8 harnesses will run not as good and check engine light will stay on but it works but I have to change alot of stuff like the oil pan and etc. and he recommended that I should get jumper harnesses with a obdI?" what should I do take his advice or stick to my plan of putting the y8 2000 civic manual harness with the p2p obdII or go with the mechanics advice of jumper harness with a obdI?

Goddamn OP.

If you can't even find info about engine swaps billions of people have done already, by using the interwebs, how the [freak] do you expect yourself to mod a car?!
