i have had three 1990 accords, two lx one is an ex. they all have had the same problem....the automatic transmission sport light comes on when sports is not on then it gets stuck in 2nd and 3rd gear or 1st and 3rd. i changed the VSS sensor as told it may be the problem well it wasnt the trannys are automatic but must be shifted as tho were manual now from 2nd to third gear....any have any ideas im very upset with all three of my cars and would just love to find the problem

 

dude you gotta be more patient. at the time you posted, most aren't on here. i seen that you reposted the same info later in the day. move for deletion.

 

the light means that you have a transmission code. The shift solenoid sound like the culprit. pull the code and go from there. dont forget to check the fluid level.

 

ya the fluid is ok someone told me i should buy a new ecu because apparently they go bad offten in that year of car?? can u tell me if that would fix the problem?

 

noo sorry i couldnt find my post so i figured i did something wrong so i made a new one then found my old one that was my bad man

 

Pull the codes and go from there.
