Default shitty stealth alaram install

I got this 'stealth' alarm installed into my 08 Fit. He installed another install into my integra which was very well done but this just seems horrible. This is the view you see after you take down the glove compartment box. Everything is super visible but he said at night itll hard to see? I dont know... what do you guys think?

Someone should remind your installer that not only do cars get stolen in the daytime, crooks do know what a flashlight is.

The install can not even be called a semi stealth install, much less a stealth install, it's not even a good install, correct me if I'm wrong, but that is a blue butt connector on the violet lead, [3rd pix] and that sure looks like a red "T" tap with a blue male "quick disconnect" in the upper left corner of the same pix.

What is the make and model of the alarm and how much did you pay for the alarm and the "stealth" install? 94

Its a clifford 50.5x and he installed it for some parts. I talked to him and he said he will put some loom over it but thats about it. Should I be asking for more?

Loom would help but still not be absolutely great. I mean, at least he put -some- sort of effort in, but ... It's a different location for the brain, which requires pulling glove compartment, but it could've been done better.

You got ripped. Who did the install? "You can't see it at night" LOL. Dumbest line ever uttered. I guess I'll park my car under a tree at night so the street lamp doesn't shine on it. Should be safe then.

Okay, I will. It's a red butt connector, not blue.

I don't want to mention his name just now until I resolve this with him on Friday.

I'm about to check out my friends car who got a stealth install 4 days later by him.

EDIT:

I got some more pictures of my car and my friends. Both are pretty bad. The siren was drilled into the car and its already starting to rust. And I dont know if its bad... but the ground has 3 screws around it?? I think wrx-sti-killer is my only hope to get it installed. I ended up giving him a call and all he said he can do is add looms and zip tie down the wires. And he isnt too down about redoing the install.

This is my friend's car and it looks just as bad. He paid this for the 'stealth' install. The wires are very visible on the passenger side when you take out the glove compartment box. The driver side is a little better but you can see everything around the area. Including the backup battery..

I gave him a call and all he said he can do is add looms and zip tie down the wires.

Yeah that's not going to do any good. I have yet to see any "stealth" install that lives up to the standard set by suspendedhatch. I think you would have been better just doing it yourself.

Try this one,
http://i284.photobucket.com/al...3.jpg
Thats just one of the many.

Who and the hell did that. Since you all ready said he won't fix it you might as well put him on blast so nobody else will get a poor install. Because that is just wrong. Those installs are so easy to bypass. Mights as well not even have a alarm and just use it for keyless entry. Complain to clifford if he is a dealer. They are trying to weed out these types of shops with bad installs.

It sucks because you a depending on this installer who ever it is to secure your car. And you rest at nite depending on this to work and your car gets stolen. This is why every one says if they want it they will get it. Or alarms suck. Its the install. The alarm is as good as its install. If this was one of my installers he would be fired as soon as I seen this.

Hell the tilt is even installed wrong and it comes with detailed instructions.

Damn Will that sucks to hear. Hope you didn't trade him too much in parts. If you plan to try and redo it yourself and want some help figuring out stuff you can give me a call, Chad might be able to help too.

If you want wrx-killer to do it here is the thread regarding him coming up to the bay:

In the works with talking to the installer. He's saying he had his coworker do the install... ill keep you guys updated.

I'm glad that he's honest and backing up his work. So +1 for that

Okay, he's going to redo it! I misunderstood what he said (damn my bad hearing) and we got everything fixed. He did not install the alarm himself but his coworker did. So everything is all good. Just a big misunderstanding!

His co-worker is a wire connector, not an installer. It's too bad, people pay big bucks and get that. I commend you for actually looking after you left the shop. I make my customers look before they leave my shop.
