Default Tires Tires Tires....Battle>>>Azenis VS. T1 Proxes Sz.....14 INCH

I want to keep the stock ex rims and i first of all need to know if the 195/45/vr14 from Toyo will fit...cause i know the Falken Azenis 195/60/14's will. My question is which is better for my car? 95 Ej 2.75 ff 2.50 rr will that lower profile on the toyo be necessary? I hear excellent things about Falken and i mean christ....half the pricec of the T1! THanks and any help would be kindly appreciated!

Falken Azenis 195/60/14

I get solid 2.2 60's on them at street PSI (35) and never a problem. Daily driven car with those tires. No burn out at all needed to warm the tires either.

54 dollars to your door from http://www.discounttiredirect.com (and boy they deliver fast)

NIIIICE do you ever have any problem with the tire rotation?? due to the directional tread of the tires?? Wouldn't a lower profile be better? (i.e. t1's?)

the 195/45x14" will really throw off your speedo. I'd go with the 195/60x14" cause the sidewall stiffness will make up the difference bewteen the two tires.

Yes but less than 195/45x16". Figure stock Civic sizes are 185/65x14" so you could use 195/60x14". But 195/55x14 would be better than the 45s.

o.k. this is what i have read online and asked people about the Falken Azenis...first off they run real hot and develop a greasy film which could be bad for traction?? And secondly wouldnt a lower profile be better for handling? How is a 195/60 approved for track racing?? I figured that the toyos are v rated, and are really gonna hold up better from what i read...i mean come on these tires are used on SPEEDVISION circuits?? (Correct me if i am wrong!)

Azenis are awesome tires for dry land/track tires, but don't run them when its raining, you might regret it. I have 3 friend that have them here in florida, lately it rains here everyday. All 3 three of lost control of their cars and ended up wrecking of the side of the road, no one hurt. Now, I can't say it may be the tires or could be drivers fault (they won't admit it was the thier own) but all of them happen during a thunderstorm.

I suggest sticking with T1's.

Just my .02 cents

Actually, Azenis (if that's what you were referring to) aren't directional tires. There is an outside, but once mounted, they can be swapped from side to side.

Keep this in mind... the Azenis are cheap, but they wear out very quickly. Considering the mileage vs the amount paid, they turn out to be fairly expensive to run.

Ok first of all so there is no "special" way of mounting the azenis on to the car?? Hmmm so considering i am getting a **** load of money from my neighbors insurance company (she hit my car while it was parked) money isn't a problem...i might just consider those T1's. I mean they are great tires...i dunno give me more info.

Azenis are very good roadracing tires I can tell u that. I went from Bridgestones to Azenis for a lot less and i get a much better feel now, not to mention keeping some cash im my pocket. I havent ran them in the rain yet so i dont know how good they are on wet traction.

so what you are saying is in essence...if i went with a 195/45/vr14? this would throw off my speedometer making my speedo say im at 55 when in turn i am really at 65?? Or the other way around? Would going that low a profile really hurt? Would 195/55 hurt where i could feel a difference? Would any be better for 60' foot times or 1/4 times? or should i just stick with the 195/60/14 azenis or similiar sizes?

Default Back from the dead......

I am looking for the best tire to go on the 6th gen. 8 spoke 14" Hx wheels.
It seems the ideal size is 195/60/14

Is there a thread that covers 14" tires in general? If so, please post the thread
I would like something that will give me good mileage, nice comfort ride, good for drag racing and not cost an arm and leg.

I'm running Toyo T1 on my 14" TE37. I liked them, but expensive as hell. I paid 98.00 a pc after tax for the tires.

yeah I had azenis and I loved them while they lasted. I felt as if they were alright in the rain and it is true about the dry traction I have pulled a 2.1 60ft with no burnout on them.
