Any VA Guys have motorcycles?
My question is where the heck do you put the inspection sticker and county sticker on the bike in VA. I've seen some that have had a plate thing near the front wheel with them on harleys and the like but my R1 doesn't have anything of the sort. My R1 hasn't been street ridden for the past few years but now that I want to plate it and have to get it inspected where the heck do these two stickers go? The county sticker is pretty large. I want to make sure I don't get a pulled over for not having them.
:?: what part of VA? fairfax doesnt have county decals anymore. and the inspection i would usually just leave under my seat, if an officer pulled me over.. i would say didnt know and put it hwere he thought would be good. swing arm?
Couldn't find much room and the inspection place but that sticker on what little room I had on the forks. I put the county one on the swingarm but not sure I like it there.
I have the inspection sticker on the fork of my R1. We don't have county stickers in pa though. Worst case is just attach it to a piece of paper/cardboard and keep it with the rest of you paper work under the rear seat.
BTW the way any Pics/Mods? What year?

I shouldn't have just kept it under the seat as I'm not liking it where it is not. I just didn't want to get pulled over because of not having it visible. Oh well, we will see how it works out here it doesn't want to stick all that well.
It's a mostly stock 2004 blue R1 with right around 4,920 miles. So as you can see not ridden much. Never been down or anything like that. The mods are basically just a tank protector, frame sliders, and braided aftermarket brake lines. Those are pretty much the only mods right now. I'd like to put an exhaust and maybe some different wheels on it but don't have the funds right now.
Here are a few pictures.

R1 first bike? </TD></TR></TABLE>First street bike. I have ridden dirtbikes for quite a while and am no novice to riding. I have a CR500 and a DRZ400E well, bored out to a 440 now. My uncle owned the R1 before me. He purchased it new and I rode it a fair amount when he had it. I liked it and was used to it so bought it from him when he decided to get rid of it. I've had it for 2 years but at the time didn't have my motorcycle license only learners which later expired so after that I didn't ride it any until now. I have a learners again and have to wait 30 days for my actual license. I can at least ride near my buddies as they have licenses.

Well, the fist two days. The first was the classroom part and the second was the riding. Due to personal reasons I had to miss the last day which was the test. I don't really care to take that again as I felt like I had payed for a bunch of useless info. Sure I learned a few things like statistics and stuff that were interesting but honestly most of it was a waste of time as I already knew most of it. Usually when I take classes like that I think they are good but this one was a waste of time to me if you had ever ridden a bike before. I mean we spent an hour learning how to walk with the bike then ride it slowly across the parking lot walking with it while riding very slowly. We also spent a ton of time learning how to use the clutch. Then we did a little riding which was sort of fun but super easy and I knew how to ride way better than how they were letting us. I just didn't that it was that usefull unless you had never been on a bike before in which case it would have been great.
I would like to just take the DMV test since I've learned what the class has to teach you anyway. I just don't see a need to pay for it again especially for what we did. I think it was geared towards beginners and I think every person that is new to bikes should take it but for anyone that knows how to ride I don't think it was that needed. If I can't pass the DMV test I may take it again.
Anyone know how hard the DMV test is? The only reason I'm worried is I heard you have to do a sharp u turn and the R1 just doesn't want to turn sharp at slow speeds and stay upright. I mean it just doesn't turn that sharp at 5-15mph and you often have to end up putting your feet down to turn around. You can do a u turn like on a road fine but not much tighter than that. Is this test something you can pass on a sportbike? I have heard guys talking about failing it on Harleys and the like. Will it be like the riding we did in the class? I think I could pass most if not all of that fine on the R1 but I can't do a super tight u turn as well, the bike just doesn't do that.
