Default Water Pump Pulley Recall (R18)

Don't know if everyone got it fixed yet but today I went to the dealership to get my sun visor fixed and my gas tank checked out because gas was spilling out after I pumped my gas...But off topic.....

Ok well the dealership said that there was a recall of some sort for 2006-2007 Honda Civic Dx,Lx,Ex. Taking atleast 4-5 hours for me to get it fixed. Make sure you call your Honda dealerships and ask them to check if your affected!!!

Yeah I hate doing these at Honda. There is also a recall about the water pump pulley bolts losing tension (Service Bulletin 08-039). Please don't bring 'em in LOL

We get 2-3 a day in for one of the 2 recalls. Just started seeing em like 2-3 weeks ago. One pays the tech 1/2 hr and the other is 1.3 so i dunno why they tell u it taked 5 hrs to get it done.

5hrs? Dont like doing them?

C'mon guys the full pump kit takes less than a half hour to do if you're left alone. I did my g/f's car after she drove in from 30 min away nice and hot and finished it quick, heat definately speeds up your work if it has to get done.

do you take the motor mount off when you do yours? the 038 one. i found that i can do these in about 20 mins if cool. also loosing the pulley bolts when the belt is still on and figure tighten the pully bolts when going back together then put the belt on and tighten it. that way you don't have to go hunt for the speacial tool to hold the pulley in place just some sharing of tips from one honda tech to another.

Well actually it got done sooner...I took it in around 11am and they called me back up at like 1:30pm. So it was pretty fast. I guess 5 hours was just an estimate . But I got it done so I'm happy . Plus i finally got my visors fixed...damn thing was bugging the heck outta me.
