Default Heads up, good deal on JVC KD-SH1000

Pretty good deal on this head unit. If you put $120 for the offer price you can get it for $136 shipped with your car harness and dash kit included. For the price I think it's a killer deal. I just bought one that will be here on Mon.

My bro's coworker had a blown head unit. I replaced his HU with an RCA unit that I got for free, and paid the difference for the JVC KD-SH1000. My end cost, $40.

Mine is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.
S/N ratio is higher (98dB) than my current unit, which is only 90dB. I am anticipating a little better sound quality, but nothing that will make me say "Wow!"

Yeah there are better units out there, but for the features of this one at this price I think it's near unbeatable. You can run a active 3 way on this also. $25 and you have direct iPod control or just use a simple usb drive plugged into the front. I love the looks also, simple and sleek.

Exactly. I currently have a JVC KD-G720 (free) and I've been using the USB drive on it. It's really nice to have, because my taste in music varies with my mood. I made three variety drives "hard" .. "soft" .. "oldies"
Sure, I could use an ipod, but meh, these USB drives are inexpensive and they do the same thing.

Totally agree. Best Buy just had 2gb usb thumb drives for $2.49. Sold out quick, but could have snagged 4 and been set.

I use a iPod because I got it for free. I only have a 30gb and have only used 8gb of space and a lot of the songs I don't even listen to. The USB drive would be perfect and convenient to just put whatever music you are in the mood for on there in a snap.

Well, it showed up today and I installed it a couple hours ago. Contrary to what I previously posted, I can definitely say "Wow!" when it comes to the sound quality of this deck. Everything sounds better than it did when using my previous JVC unit. The highs are crisp and precise, the lows are more accurate, not to mention the built in HPF and LPF for front and rear, and the BBE effect. I had to turn the gain on my sub amp way down in comparison to the settings used for my previous JVC unit. For the price, features, and the overall quality of this unit.. I am extremely pleased.

How'd you fair with yours, NACvicSi?

I have the sh909 and it had very good sound quality also. I would buy another one of the high end JVC units anytime.

It's definitely worth the asking price.

I got mine hooked up and love it. Sound quality is amazing ( I have been riding around with the stock head unit in my 99 Civic for 3 months after selling my Prelude). I went ahead and installed my new amp and subs and have the gain about half way and subs set on 2 on the hu and it's still loud.

Check out my other thread for a awesome deal on a amp too. I know people running them and was skeptical, but picked one up to go along with the new hu and it's so sweet.
