Hard Acceleration?
I recently drove a 2009 Accord Coupe. It had 10 miles on it. The salesperson rode along and explained the features, etc., of the car. He said the V6 had good acceleration and said try it. I did push it pretty hard but did not floor it and did not try to "burn rubber". My question is: driving a new vehicle like that, what "damage" if any could happen to the engine?
Probably nothing since cars come with "break in" oil from the factory. Dude think about how many cars are redlined before they see an original owner. I highly doubt you have anything to worry about. It is an Accord after all. I'd be willing to bet some dealers take cars out and beat on them at night and ****.
Actually, if someone drove down the road at a steady speed/rpm for an hour during break-in, that would be worse than full throttle acceleration. The owner's manual will tell you to vary speeds widely during break-in. I would not recommend full throttle from a dry stop, but from any other rolling speed I think it's ok.
