I have searched for topics like this but came to no real conclusion. I already know people will be concerned about stress on steering arms not really to worried about it. Nor am I worried about my car riding like **** because its either give or take when riding dumped. But time to get to the point. I was wondering for those that are slammed what suspension set ups they were using. I heard BC N+ go pretty low. Pics and info would be great. And when I mean dumped I am talking about at most fitting one finger in between the tire and the fender. And suggestions or info on set ups would be tremendously helpful! TIA!!!!!

 

Progress VERSION I look amazing and go wayyyyy low. Dont have pics because not many people have them but search around. I think jdmultimate.com has them, but they are spendy

 

It doesn't matter what suspension you run if you go that low, because they're all gonna ride like ****, have geometry problems and have zero travel.

Just get sleeved coilovers or something if your goal is only to be slammed.

one i guess ur deffinition and mine are different. When i think DUMPT i think tucking tires at least and my cars tires are barely tucked with tein type Flex. And also tire size will matter i think im running 225/50s? at the moment smaller tire means lower to the ground. So yeh all depends any lower on the Coilovers in the rear you could mess up the fuel filler i believe someone on ep hatch has done that...ive ridden lower than my current height but scraped to much on speed bumps and the front lip which cost more than some cars on the site. It looked damn nice though...also ive had the flex for 100k + so its quality is in no question IMO. mine are first edition newer ones may not be as good so dont quote me on it and the Basics go lower than mine but ride is NOT the same

I am already aware of this. Which I stated in my first post. I have already had another set up for drag (1000 lb rear 400 lb front) that rode worse then any slammed setup I have driven.. Do they make koni yellow short shaft/gc with top hat set ups for ep3's?

There is no need to worry about shocks, and no...Konis won't work when lowered that much. You'd have to have them shortened, and then they won't work even that low.

BTW---400 front/1000 rear is not very stiff, at all.

For a daily driven car you don't think 1000 lb. rears are stiff? LOL. Maybe if your thinkin road race yea that's not that stiff.

I think your tiny head is full of rice....then again that's just my opinion. I didn't ask for peoples opinions if they like slammed cars. I asked about what suspension set ups will get me as low as possible.

Can you please explain to me why koni yellows with the shortened shafts won't work with gc's?

 

1000 400 on an EP/DC5 isnt that stiff no i think the BC N= and the Flex are both over 1000

 

My drag set up was not on my ep3. It was on my turbo EM1 about 4 to 5 years ago. LOL I should have clarified that. Mugen Dom have you had any experience or know any one who has delt with the BC N+?

 

You realize that the Em1 and EP3 have absolutely nothing in common, suspension-wise, correct?

And no shock will work with a slammed EP3. There is so little suspension travel that low, and unless you spend serious coin, there is no easy way to fix it. Basically your bumpstop becomes your shock and spring.

Again I will say...like I always do when these threads come up: you bought the wrong car if you want to slam your ride.

You will be able to achieve that ride height with any set of coilovers and even some spring set-ups. Slammed IMO is tucking all fours. Anything else is just lowered.

 

I am quite aware that a em1 and ep3 have nothing in common suspension wise. Being that em1 is wishbone and a ep3 being a macpherson strut. Todd00 brought up that it was going to ride like **** which I already knew that and I compared a dumped ride riding like **** to my old drag setup running 1000 pound spring rates in the the back on my old em1. And I know I bought the wrong car to slam but I know it is possible to slam it just takes some work. Much like the white phaze2 ep3.

If you don't care about the ride, then buy some sleeved coilovers and put them on your OEM shocks. Then lower all you want.
