Default 1988 Crx si problem

Ok, so i was driving along, sitting at about 2.5k rpms, when my car suddenly dropped to about 1500 rpms, giving it gas would not change it, and it slowed down and died. Then, it would not start. the starter seemed to be working fine, and after testing a number of things but finding no problems, i gave up and tried one more time before towing it, but it started right up and ran smooth for about a week without problems. Then one week later, i was driving to work and it did the same thing, and while i still had momentum i tried compression starting it and it worked. When i came back from work, i was going to a friends house and it died the same way, compression starting did not work, and now it won't start. push starting wont work, and i cant seem to find the problem. Can you help me?

Hm my CRX did that a month or two ago, Although mine wouldnt start back up, I went to Auto zone and had my ignition coil tested, said it was fine. So i bought a distributor cap, new wires, new plugs, still didnt start. Then got the idea, screw it im going to replace the coil, boom it started right up. (dont always trust your local parts store ). Anywho i hope this helps.

Any codes? Remove your carpet on the passenger side. Then turn the key to the on position and check for any blinks from the ECU.
