02 rsx type s burning oil?
okay i bought a stock 2002 rsx type s about a year ago with 92,000 miles. bought it from a spoiled local girl. since ive had it, ive bought i/h/e. i don't beat on it or anything. has 120,000 miles now. i drive a lot.
now the problem: my girlfriend said she seen a little black smoke when i hit vtec and when i let off the gas in 2nd around 7800 rpm (on an on-ramp while she was behind me). i went to a gas station and checked the oil. wasn't low since my oil change was 1200 miles ago. also the oil wasnt burnt at all. nor is it when i drain it (4000 miles apart). my rsx is white and ive never noticed any black build up on the rear bumper and i went without a car wash for over a month once. i checked the oil this morning (cold) and i think its slightly lower than before but maybe not (now 1700 miles from oil change) - i dont remember how much i put in during the change originally.
now im not saying its not burning oil, it could be. is there a good way to check for sure? if it is, it doesnt seem major if its not contaminating the rest of the oil and not lowering the oil level much, if at all.
im worried because i want to supercharge this car. should i dissassemble/rebuild the motor? i have the tools, ive just never done internal motor work (done swaps, etc). what parts should i check? i know rings but what else could cause it to burn? anyone have a walkthrough?
sorry for the length and all the questions.

Black smoke is not bad. If you get white smoke, then you will have problems. You may be running rich. Your car will normally burn a bit of oil (under normal driving it should be less than a half of a quart between changes). I don't think you are having any problems. My car will expel black smoke sometimes if I get on the throttle hard. Keep checking the oil if you are worried, but I don't think you are having a problem. As a general rule, keep a spare quart of oil in your trunk to top off if need be.
most VTEC motors b and k series ove owned have used a little bit of oil. nothing crazy, but they have. i think it just the nature of a honda motor after they get some miles on them. you're most likely fine
I've heard k-series burn more than other motor series many, many times. But:

At least the majority of a2's do. I used to to run M1 and i'd be at least a quart low after 3k miles. I switched to German made Castrol and now after about 5k I see little to no burn off
