Default CBR models

Im kinda looking around the market for a motorcycle, I know not much about them, and these past couple months I've been just dieing to have one. They look like alot of fun. Anyway, I was on cycletrader and I was looking for like a CBR 600, but I found like F3, and F4, and RR, and I'm just curious what the difference in these is. thanks

f3 is older series f4 is newer, RR is actually a 954 cc bike.. honestly tho, please please do more than just buying a bike, take the MSF motorcycle safety course and start small

Yeah, I mean, the look like alot of fun, I love the way they sound and I've been looking at them the past months. I want to make the right choice but my girl isn't so fond of me getting one, so if she doesn't then I wont...

I definatly want to play it safe, I know how dangerous they are. I figured the 600 was pretty small, I just seen a 1994 600 RR for $4000 and it looked really nice. Maybe I'll look at a F3 or unless you have a better suggestion?

i'm looking to do the same thing. the general consensus from the people i've talked to is to start small...with good choices being a Kawsaki Ninja 250/500 (or EX 500 as they were referred to in the older years). They can be had for under $2000.00 used and that way you wont feel too sad when you lay it down... Since i'm a bigger guy (6'2, 200 lbs.) i'm trying to find myself an EX 500. good luck (convincing your girlfriend). lucky for me my girl has a thing for bikes however, she doesn't have a thing for me spending $$$$......

You know what, a couple weeks ago there was this green ninja for sale around the corner from me, ugly color but it would've been a good start bike.. I never did see how much he wanted for it.

yeah my girlfriends aunt died in a motorcylce accident so I can see why she doesn't want me to have one because of my safety which I totally respect, and if she is dead set on not wanting me to ride then I wont, but I'll have to have a talk with her

Good idea guys, smart thinkin. I work at a suzuki shop, and you dont know how many times I see new riders lay brand new bikes down. Learn, then buy a better bike. chances are you are going to drop it or lay it down. The best is the dumbasses who think they are ruff ryders and 12 o'clock their **** and put $5000 worth of damage on their Gixxer.

again...like most here mentioned...start out with something rather small and used...
most likely ull drop it light at first...live n learn from it...for cheap

sorry to hear that. yeah, one of my old gf's was an EMT an she saw so many motorcycle accidents.....she was like NO MOTORCYCLES, and i never could convince her otherwise. but i think when it's your time to go, it's your time. motorcycle or not. so it's hard to say. seems dangerous, yet so very tempting...good luck, be safe.

It's cool, I figure maybe I can take her on a ride or something and show her it isn't as bad as she may think.

A few motorcycles I seen had some road rash on them, I figure if I get one with it already, I wont hurt me too bad if I lay it down agian, and if I get a honda, my dad can get a discount from honda dealerships.

hahaha, we just got one of those yesterday. First estimate was 2k, post teardown it was pretty close to 4. The owner made a scene about the new estimate and the manager made a good comment about how there was damage from impact on the front, top and left side. This guy musta flipped it over after hitting a parked car and dropped it down a hill trying to pick it back up. Or some other ruff stuntThe thing was so beat up it was crate ready w/ the front tire on. Funny ****. And we got a pallet of new zx12's... mmmm... get to spend a whole weekend prepping red and green kawas. The christmans I never had as a kid.
