Question on 2008 LX factory alarm and gas question too??
I bought a 2008 LX last night brand new...and I am quite happy with it. My last honda was a type R so this has less thrills but more family/work friendly. MY question is about the factory alarm, it has the sensored alarm from honda already installed but since I did not opt to pay $700 for it they just put a black cap cover over the slot inside to deactivate it.....does anyone know what is needed to get this to work for little money. I know they are quite pointless to a veteran theft built since its there I would not mind getting it activated.
Also the car is rated for 25 city and 37 highway....but I only have a half a tank left of a full and have only gotten about 120 miles so far so I am a bit worried about the efficiency as this is the whole reason for getting such a slug in the first place. The car only had 10 miles on it when I got it so I am wondering if the mileage will improve after broken in or do I just need to wait till the next tank to REALLY test the mileage. I am just a little paranoid because I have quite babied it since it is a virgin motor and the mileage just does not look that great so far. IDK tho just wondering.
Anyway I got the Taffetta white and it is the closest I could do to reminisce on my old CW Hype R....I miss her kinda. But the new car smell is nice and so is the insurance price and gas, you lose some you gain some in life. Plus I am growing up and dont drive as fast anymore like I used to.
Also suggestions on some bronze wheels would be nice too if anyone would like to offer thier opinion. Thanks guys. Dont hate on me B/C its not a Si either, lol.

the black cap was put on a small unit on the lower left side of the steering wheel. All the wiring is still there they just put it on to disable the unit because I did not foot the extra money.
Pictures, please.
Is this what you're talking about??

ur mileage will increase as the car is broken in and the ecu gets settled to ur environment and raches its peak. cuz my si was getting 200 miles per tank at first. but after a week or so im getting about 275-300 per tank
I just got a 08 LX (/cries a little inside) but SOHC FTW!. Right now I'm almost to E (About 4 squares away) and I got about 240 Miles. But yea once your car breaks in your MPG should improve.
EDIT** Im at 270.

My first tank was 25 mpg
and for the first 5000 miles it was at around 28 - 30 with just normal driving not conserving at all shifting at 4k
and now at 25, 000 miles with normal driving i never see below 31 usally with conservative driving i got 37- 40
