i jus recently swapped my harness in my 97 dx hatch, cuz i did a 97 gsr swap. i put a harness from a 96-98 ex; and now everything is plugged in and now the car wont start. it was starting b4 i changed the harness wit the stock ecu, but now wit the gsr ecu; nothin! its getting spark, all the grounds are good,battery is new, and i jus put a new tps, and iacv. Any help on why its not starting???????

 

have you checked for fuel

 

i put gas in it yesterday and still the same thing. i really cant tell how much gas i have in it cuz my gas gage is broke.

 

maybe you didn't plug in your injectors??? are you throwing a code after you keep attempting to start it??? Iunno if ek's have it but I know gsr harness's have it. But on the driver side of the tower, there should be 3 plugs(I think) and then 1 of the 3 plugs should have like a blockoff plate. This is for the injectors, make sure that plate is there. without it your injectors wont work.

 

have you checked to see if gas is getting to the fuel rail

 

the injectors are plugged in. and its crazy cuz it only throws a code wen te stock computer is in, but wen i put the gsr ecu in then it doesnt throw a code. its calling for a iacv wit the old ecu. but i jus replaced that brand new. idk.

idk how. the only thing the guy did was pour some gas in2 the throttle body-manifold and the car started a lil then turned right off. it started hard 2, i didnt like the sound at all

 

are you 100% sure its getting spark fuel and compression? if it starts with another ecu and not with the gsr ecu, maybe the problem is in the ecu???

 

it sounds like its the injectors

 

like everyone else said check for spark and fuel. When you turn the key to 'on' I THINK that you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime.

i was thinkin it was my fuel pump but some1 else told me it might be my injectors. but wen i do turn on my key i hear something turn on but it sounds like its coming from the front passenger side.

 

When you turn your car to 'on' why would the injectors fire? Besides the injectors make a click clicky sounds while the fuel pump is a hum sound

idk wat either of the sounds like. never really listened for it. jus tellin u wat i hear now wen i turn the key. "correct me if im wrong," but my fuel pump is under my back seat behind me??? and if so; then i dont hear it turn on. and if dats da case wit it not turning on wat should i do?

 

its easy to check there is a bleeder screw on the fuel filter its a 10mm open it up have some one turn the car on and see if gas comes out if it does its not the fuel pump
