need info on sleeves???
ok well i was reading a forum and i read about this place called larkin racing in cali that does benson sleeves i belive thats what its called correct me if im wrong.. well pretty much i wanna know are they good
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Benson sleeves are done by the owner of Benson. I could be wrong. I had Golden Eagle sleeves put in my block. Shipped it to GE directly. Excellent product.
i havent heard anything bad about both those companies or their sleeves..both those companies have pretty good rep for wut they make and do so i would say the question is whats ur budget as far as sleeves go
i had ge sleeves in my turbo h22 accord and i think i paid 1200 for them and i loved them great for boost but i think the bensons will hold more
or go with darton i heard alot of goods things jus gotta do ur research and find the right one for your project...

dart/darton sleeves are the brand that the majority of the sleving companies use. The sleves are manufactured by dart/darton to the specifications of the company (i.e. to Dan Bensons specs, to GE's specs, etc.) Just because they are dart/darton sleeves doesn't mean the sleeve job is quality, the installation is an important aspect of the quality and longevity of the sleeves/sleeve job.

a built b18c block will have anywhere from 180-220 and still be very reliable but there are many factors that come into play - what parts, was the build done properly, the tune, the dyno (does it read high), etc.
come up with a budget first then come up with some sort of a realistic goal that you want to achieve and go with it, but rememberm don't buy the parts on a whim, research them and make sure they will work well together.
Also if you are going to be doing any seriuos drag racing, look into the rules of what you will be racing in as there are probably certain things you can't do, or if you do them you will be moved up a class.
Take your time and research everything before you get out there and rip apart that b18c, after all, you only want to build it one and have it last, right? look in the all motor section, or the forced induction (if you do decide to go turbo), and look into the drag racing section too. and remember any questions you have, have more than likely already been asked by someone so try a quick search (this also includes searching google and other search engines) before you make a thread, and if you still come up empty it is time for you to make a thread.

amen
if you're looking for anywheres near 500hp you'll need to go boost on a B18C5.

Darton used to supply Benson, not anymore. Ive have 2 blocks from Benson and the work is top notch. To be honest in the end its whos customer service you like better. All of the major companies will give you the same type of result (safety)
