Default 00' Si or 00' SiR

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy either a 2000 Si or an SiR but I don't know which one to pick. I'm not going to be into any major racing, just a bit of horseplay with some friends, one owning an Acura RSX Type-S with only a K-Pro Chip added and an intake. As for any modding, I plan on only doing a few things, to name a few -ECU, Headers/Exhaust, Intake. Would I be able to keep up with his RSX with either Civic?

Thanks.

yea sorry not gonna happen. A stock b16 with just I/H/E and ecu wont be able to keep up with a type-s. you would need to step it up more to keep up. if you want a stock motor with just bolts on and ecu to keep up if not beat a type-s, then you need one of the monster of honda motors. The all mighty H22.

The Si - You have 0 Chance, unless his car dies or he stalls... or something..
The SiR - You will be able to hang with him, but you won't beat him...

Correct, and the Si he's refering to is our version of the US EX coupe. G2 speed pretty much got it right. basically if you don't want to do an engine swap then the SiR is your best bet, but if you plan to do an engine swap and drop something like say a B18C1/C5 in there or an H22, K20 or whatever then the Si would make more sense as you aren't paying for an engine you aren't going to use.

I have pulled away from a couple with just bolt on's in my 2000 Si.It was closer than i would have liked, but its not like a strong, well driven Si can not hang. FYI I ran 14.50's at 96ish.

Thanks guys. Since I'm on a budget, the H22 would be my pick for an engine swap but where could I buy from?
Would http://www.jdm-online.com or http://www.japanmotorimport.com be of any use?

those arent the only numbers. theres power to weight ratio. where the si dominates the rsx, I'm not sure about how much, but im sure of the 2000civic being lighter.

Weight isn't everything...

Along with the RSX having more power... it also has a much better tranny...

Since your told old to make thing sup and post them on here.... you should no that weight isn't everything...

</TD></TR></TABLE>Weight is NOT everything, but it makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE....a bolt on 2000 Si( with a GOOD DRIVER) will and can run right with if not INCH OUT a STOCK Type S.Thats all I have been trying to say.My Ex had an 02 Type s,and id say she was an above average driver. We ran our cars hundreds of times.Id win about %80 of the time.Ive run at least 50 at the track,a handfull on the street, and countless others during HPDE sessions. Even my friends with EM1s,and I have many of those, have reported the same results. Its not like we recieved faster EM1's in Az than other states/countries did. lol
