used steel wool on red GT3's now they are dull.

Default used steel wool on red GT3's now they are dull.

used a fine piece of steel whool to clean off som nasty overspray.
now the rim is dull, i'm wondering if buffing it will bring out the shine again...is so what kind compound should i use?

The lip is clear coated, don't use aluminum polish. The steel wool is an abrasive that's why it's dull now. To get the shine back, you're gonna have to buff the wheels, either by hand or with a buffing pad/wheel. I use 3M products. Any type of polishing compound/glaze should work fine. You may to go over it with rubbing compound first to remove the haze/dullness and then the polishing compound to bring the shine back out like it was. Next time you get over spray, use some paint thinner, the wheel is coated with a clear that won't be effected by paint thinner.
