CRX not starting, relay problem?
ok, first off, i searched, but everything i found pointed to trouble shooting fuel/spark/compression issues, and i don't believe that's where my problem lies.
WHAT HAPPENED: I have not been having any trouble starting the car. Never any issues with the starter not wanting to engage or anything. I stop to get gas, and just get a relay click.
WHAT I'VE DONE:
-Push started the car. No hesitation starting from a roll.
-Tested the battery. Reading close to 13V with the car off, no voltage drop when the ignition is turned to "start".
-Tested the signal to the starter solenoid. No voltage change when key is turned to "start"
When I turn the key to "on", I can hear the fuel pump prime, so it is not an issue with the main relay (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong here). I don't currently have the shop manual but I'm waiting for it to finish downloading.
Are there any other relays in the starting circuit I should check, and where are they located? I found a small rectangular (3/4" x 3/4" x 1 1/2") relay behind the center bracing column under the dash (where the stereo is) that i can hear click when I turn the key, I'm gonna try and get a replacement this afternoon and see if that fixes the problem, but being here in Houston, I don't know if any of the parts stores are opening back up yet.

i had not tried that. i didn't remember the crx having a clutch switch, but come to think of it i did see one of those little rubber pusher things in the floor board, and i know the one for the brake pedal fell out and had to be replaced a couple of months ago.
i'll check that first thing when i get home. if it's that simple i think i may just kick myself...

When you turn ur key what lights show up. I have had the same problem, Although i didnt here my fuel pump prime, i decided to replace it, still wouldnt work. then i replaced the main relay and vuala.
that stupid little rubber thing on the clutch pedal broke ad came out. just put a short machine screw/nut in the pedal, and no problems anymore.
thanks for that suggestion, i wouldn't have thought to look for that otherwise...
