Default brake light short - '93 civic dx

I have a short in my brake light system. And its a freakin good one....

Driving down the road, hit the brakes, and sometimes my radio will flicker as it looses power, my radar detector will beep like it reset, sometimes the needles on the gauges will move irradiatly.

seems like when I hit the brakes it zaps the whole electrical system, for like a nano second, and makes everything flicker.

It won't blow a fuse. I have looked at the wiring at the lights, seems fine.

My possibles,

-brake switch? but the lights still work, and its an auto trans, and it still comes out of park
-bulb going bad?
-wiring pinched/grounded out somewhere(this is going to suck to trace)
-fuse box going bad
-bad alternator?
-bad ignition switch? I know these go bad in these cars....

Really stuck on where to start. any ideas???

thanks in advance!!
