x2, do you have paperwork/bill of sale? All tags on engine and transmission? Got a friend interested as long as its not stolen or anything

 

motor came out of a theft recovery 98 gsr
All the vins of the motor and car were taken off when
my friend bought the car 2 years ago im looking
for the paperwork of the sale right now ill let you guys know

Ok so im an idiot for not knowing why people would rip of plates/vins off an engine/trans...the only reason I can think of is because its stolen. And trust me I have money, thats why my car is getting k swapped. if you cant read I said it was for a friend

I think you just answered the question yourself. I'm pretty sure he meant that the tags were gone when he bought it. He said it was a theft recovery, so whoever stole it initially was the same person who removed the tags

 

Its just never a good sign when you can't provide paperwork for a motor/trans with no vin. Especially when its going for hundreds less than what its worth. One can only assume the motor was stolen by whoever is selling it, or a friend of the theif.

 

can you take a picture of the block stamp with the serial number as well as the head serial number? so i can call the local dmv/authorities to make sure this motor isnt stolen?


if your innocent you should have nothing to hide.

post up some pics of the car it came out of and pics of the motor...

The messed up part is that some people just dont care where it came from. They see thats its a low price and even with no paperwork or vin will still buy it

Yea he doesnt have the tag on the trans either

almost the same exact price as the b18c swap I am selling...I have all documentation and papers tho

I have never had to prove any of my motors were legit, so I dont know what Illinois you live in, but its not the same as mine.

And if you have a motor for sale, why doesn't your friend buy yours?
