that recent of a car really shouldn't have top issues cause its relatively new(only 3 year old car). id look for rust under the trunk hood and wheel wells. other then that make sure the owner did the regualr maintance and do a carfax
seriously man, use the SEARCH button. Do you have issues with reading letters and numbers?
Pretty much what your asking is universal but with a little more detail because your asking it for a specific car.
For a S2000 those cars are built good and you dont have to worry that much about things wearing down unless he beat the crap outta it. New age comes with better technology so the equipment SHOULD last longer.
For things to look at for car with that much miles, you should check by not only visually but actually getting to drive the car. Look for any rust spots, weird noises such as in suspension or engine. Hell you can even probably do a compression test with the consent of the owner, with the compression test you should get a good indication of the motor. There you go one thing checked off. For suspension I would do some sharp turns left and right to make sure there are no weird clunking sounds and then see how it does over speed bumps to see if there is any weird indication of noises.
For paint a car with 70k is going to have some wear and tear. Just check around make sure there are no big scuffs thats can be easily repairable like by doing some polishing. Also 70k for a s2k seems like there is a highway miles for sure. Good gosh i drive about 5k a year or less. 5k is pushing it. The average person drives 15k a year.
An eager person could notion maybe things, like needing money for a house? Car to small for his needs? IDK just trying to help man. Could also be bad also if someone is so eager. I dont want you trying to buy a messed up car especially a s2000.
Well good luck, and I didnt mean to critisize your or anything.

All jokes aside a carfax is pretty worthless. As some of you might remember I put my S2k into a highway divider, had the bags go off, and it had frame damage that had to be repaired. It's still got a clean carfax.
