06 accord ex moon/sun roof control by 529T
Am I right that the 529T can open & close the roof with the Viper 5701? I convinced the Tweeter manager that the power windows can be programmed to open and close using the Directed Bitwriter, the roof doesn't seem out of reach.
I'm no installer, just an ancient COBOL programmer with a little logic still available.

If you convinced the manager that then he does not need to be a manager or a dei dealer. The bitwritter has nonething to do with that. Yes you could use the 529t to open and close a sunroof. Or just use two relays if you want to do it manualy

The 5701 has been installed except the comfort close was a problem. The opinion was that since the ex oem has ope and close on with the door key that it would happen, but noooo. Not any experience out there with this new system going onto Accords with factory door automation. They tried several settings without success. Apparently directed gets away with saying that features "may" work. Solution seems to be adding a 530T which will add $200.00 labor as well.
My thought is that some Honda expertise is called for, probably beyond the dealership level, that's why I'm here. You guys have it. I can't wait to show the dealer when I can raise the windows and control the moonroof remotely on an 06 and show them that aftermarket installers rule!

I have not seen an Accord with that feature, although door lock key operated power windows is not new, how they are controlled, [triggered] is.
Are yours fully automatic, lock the doors with the key and the windows roll up, or are they semi-automatic, lock the doors with the key and hold the key in the lock position until windows are up all the way?
Can you also roll them down using the key?
How about the window switches on the drivers door are they fully automated, or is it the standard Honda/Acura setup, fully automated drivers window down and all the rest are semi-automatic and all windows semi-automatic up?
Obviously the key switch is supplying a signal to the BCM or some kind of control module, and that module is controlling the windows movement, the question becomes, what's the signal?, it could be a ground or 12V+, it could be a "one wire" ground through resistance system [EG; 860 ohms for up and 370 ohms for down]
it's an 06, it could be DATA.

my intent is to inform the installer of any ideas. The door key will move the windows on a second click that's held (left or right determines up or down) in either direction, let go and they stop (all 4). Inside the driver's is auto up or down ( manual mode is by light pressure if desired) and remaining 3 are hold to move (no "express"). I understood him to go with one 530t to perform up and down for all 4, is that possible? thanks for the input.
sorry but being the nooby I don't know the lingo. does DATA stand for something? what's a bump? is there a directory for the acronyms? duh, raised in SD what can u expect?
Then I would assume there is a power window control module that controls the windows and supplies 12V+ to the power window system if triggered by the door lock switch.
It should be as simple as using two of the alarms programmable outputs to supply the up or down trigger to the power window control module, [program outputs for timed output], the "comfort close" should work, very easily if the trigger is low current ground, relays would be needed if it is 12V+ triggered or close a circuit and probably if it's a ground through resistance.
If it is DATA, don't know what else to call it, "computer speak" 00110101000100 you may need a bypass module that has window control, however I do not know of one.

The 529t was sent back, WILL NOT WORK on a 7th gen Accord to control the moon roof.
My install guy found out the motor needs a "wake up" signal before any command can happen. He found a way to "comfort close" via the Viper 5701, but no auxiliary open & close. I would think Directed could design a module , but my experience with their website would suggest that they won't. I gave them NEGATIVE stars rating for support and now have the same opinion of their reliability. The 5701 has crashed twice already within a month. Before anybody assumes, I doubt if it's the installer, he has 30 years of practice.
In retrospect, it might not be smart to remotely open a moon roof, where I live you just might want to look for leaves & junk before opening anyway.

The 530T would fully automate two windows up and down a second 530T or a 529T would be needed for the rear windows.
When you say the unit has "crashed" what exactly is happening, and how is it fixed?

First crash was after stage 1 (install took 3 appointments) when the remote start stopped working (1 week). Installer corrected whatever he had programmed wrong. 2nd was when the system fully triggered falsely and dropped into valet mode by itself. No fix possible, Tweeter is bankrupt and will no longer touch any vehicle for any reason because they have no insurance. Say goodbye to the lifetime install warranty they had.
System is stable and programming is possible for features, so far. I would have liked the job completed and a thorough orientation session before they went belly up. The rear defrost on remote start when the cabin is < 50 degrees would have been the last step. I don't suppose the data link can "see" this. Is a module needed ? I would think the switch (timed) on the dash could be interfaced, no?
Thanks for looking in from time to time, this is always how my luck runs, especially with anything electronic. I should work for microsoft, I'd fit right in.

call me crazy, but it doesnt sound like the installer really new what he was doing. being able to install car audio and being able to do multi module alarm systems are 2 different things. it takes alot more understanding and knowledge of automotive electronic systems than one might think. and ive had dei tech tell me on several cars that window and sunroof modules wouldnt work and ive gotten them to work, and in several cases made them work without the modules. i think alot of times they can only do so much via the phone, if they were actually there with meter in hand it would be a different story. also you may have needed to research installers more before hand and/or possibly gone to a custom shop. i wish you were close to north carolina as i would love to help you get all of you modules working.
also, why did you have to make 3 trips to get the installation done? could you not leave the car long enough, or did it just take way too long?
fcm, whats your take on this?
