Default Hello from 00-1261/build thread

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up PY00-1261 from my friend Ryan who recently bought it from Shawn Welenius *sp on here. In the 72 hours or so I've had it I've made a few changes. I added some k1's, a spoon n1, and fiddeled with the suspension a bit. Car just needs a good tune for the JRSC and should be good to go for trackdayz in November.

A little bit about me: I've previously had a couple of s2000's as well as a swapped ef four door and swapped ek hatch, which I sold to Ryan. I will say the R is almost if not as fun to drive as the s2k's were. I'll see how it does in November

Anyway here's some pics of the previous rides as well as the car in her new home. An actual photo shoot needs to be done but I'd like clean the car up a bit first.

Cheers

Jeremy

Future plans are just to tune it and drive it really. The wing is safely stored in my attic where it will stay until I sell the car, which I hope never happens. I'm just not a big fan of the way the wing looks at all.

If you ever plan on tracking your caR then you will want to take the wing with you. Our caR's are pretty unstable at speed, under braking without it.

He does plan to track it some, and I can tell you the wing definitely won't be going back on. I'm gonna be doing some "testing" to find out how much difference there really is when I go back to VIR in November. Do a couple sessions with it on, then a couple with it off.

BTW, riding along in this car, and driving mine, they feel like two completely different cars.

If that is the case then the car will do a good job of telling him how badly it will want it's wing back on. It really has nothing to do with looks. I have already done the testing. Would you like to know how it turned out?

I didn't want to start a wing debate

I'm absolutely willing to try to put the wing on that track and if it helps, that's awesome. As far as any other time, not so much.

Congrats on the purchase!

It's interesting to see a previous S2K owner get into an ITR. I'm actually looking for an ITR as well. I wanted one instead of my current S2K, but since the car would be my daily, I knew an ITR wouldn't survive with theives around.

One day...I'll have one!
