I have a 1997 B20b swap in my crx, just recently I have come to notice that my temp gauge is freaking out. One second it says im over heating the next it says im fine. Its constantly going up and down. When the car is sitting and idles is when the temp goes up, but if held at 2000 or more rpm the temp goes back down.

Could it be my water pump causing this? Or is something else bad?

 

never heard of this problem sounds wicked !

just run over all hoses,connections and maybe even a compression test ? I never came across something like this unless something is going on w/the wiring ?

Ive talked to muliple people about it, and most of them said its probably my thermostat. So im going to replace it, and hopefully thats what it is.

 

Yea I had to replace mine last summer but man it never acted like that it just overheated.but thats good.
