I had this idea for a while. Wanted to remove my original badge from the R in case anything happened. Bought a new armrest pad thanks to Ash and bought a 96 spec console plaque. I had it engraved with my badge number. Didn't want the USDM badge. LMK what you think.
or

For those wondering, I had the badge engraved at a jewelry store. I tried a trophy store, but they could do it because they didn't have a manual engraver (manually have to set the depth).

Good idead, keeps the original safe. Plenty of owners take out their original. Just as long as it goes with the kaa if you ever sell heR.
I did something similar with mine.
I wear the armrest of a dead R, 00-0337. While my original armrest sits at home, safe.

back when i was in school i did that also, i ended up having to buy two badges the first one i accidentally broke the tabs when trying to put the metal rings on it.
So i ended up putting the broken one on my back pack (i believe the correct term now is "everybody was joking it". sad thing is my r did get stolen but i have been re-building it slowly since then. good thing is that i still have my original badge & my backpack lol

New, depending on the dealership is about $130-140. I bought just the pad for $120 from Ash.

You can order the armrest pad and blank badge separately.
