Default Foam Filter?

Ok, right now my EH3 has a Ractive Filter that my friend gave me. It's a cone filter and I was thinking of getting a foam filter, like greddy or HKS and putting that on.

What do you guys think?

Foam filters doesn't do a very good job of filtrating the intake air

Get a K&N piece, you can't go wrong!

get a cold air intake. don't be cheap. if you're only getting a filter, get a K&N or Edelbrock cone filter.

for short ram performance..use a K&N drop in then bore some qtr inch holes in the air box...a poor mans *cold box intake*..but it works..and quiet too

i would think on the bottom half of the airbox! u wouldnt want to bore some holes on the top half and let dirty air get sucked in! that's y they call it an "AIR FILTER!"

Foam filters suck.
In a old mag (ah I forget which it was. IT, SS, SCC. One of those) they tested various filters. The foam ones sucked (****, dont remember which company it was, HKS I think with the foam "spider web" like one) had more dirt than the cone ones. Apexi and K&N had the least.

hey im not that stupid man...dont be so quick to judge. i figured he said bore them on the bottom...heres what i dont get...he said "cold air box"...if you bore holes anywhere on the box (in the lower half )it would suck in hot air from the engine bay. wouldnt just removing the resonator in the bumper be a more effective "cold air box"?? all i was asking for was a more detailed description of how he went about doing it, not some smart a$$ remark
