Default Power difference with different temperatures?

I have noticed a significant difference in power when driving in 50 degrees weather than when driving in 80 or so. I asked my mechanic if there really is a difference or if I am just imagining things. He said there is nothing I would be able to notice. I swear my car seems a lot faster when it is really cool outside. I know that the car lags on really hot days but is there really hp power difference with different climates? If so, how much is it? I know that with the CAI, its said that with every 10 degrees colder the air is, it accounts for a 1hp. I also notice that my exhaust is a little bit louder and deeper at night with the cooler air. I know this is a pointless questions but I was just a little curious. Thanks!

Yes, there's a significant difference, especially on FI cars. Fire your mechanic.

No, you're not crazy, Well, not when it relates to this topic.

I know I notice the same things.

It's not quite as noticeable with larger displacement motors but, our higher strung smaller displacement cars tend to show these symptoms easier.

LOL to the FI's. Those poor WRX'ers holding the bags of ice on their intercoolers between runs amuse me... Cooler is better but, too cold out and the tires don't hook up well and you have the power but, end up sliding all over. It's a trade off. I like the spring and fall when it's like 65 degrees and minimal humidity.

A.

I love driving my R at about 6-8AM... the cooler air make the R feel very STRONG. I've noticed this quite a bit.

I would say Honda B series motors feel the most difference with temperature changes than any other N/A car (just what I have noticed).
