So I wanting more power from my 96 accord coupe. its got the 2.2L 4cyl, full cat-back-intake and sparkplug wires. would cams be a good power adder? and need it to be farely easy to install. No turbos please. even though id love it.lol its got a auto trans lol so not only am i asking about cams im asking about any bolt-on easy install modds.

I dont wanna replace my camshaft, just like putt an ajustable cam gear on there. or do you need the upgraded cam shaft in order for the upgraded cam gear to work?

In what order did you have you intake, exhaust, and headers installed? I went exhaust, and intake. so if you went back to stock headers would it make your exhaust quieter?

oh hai whats going on in here

if your car is an EX then don't bother with a new header. Waste of money for the same flow as the ex.

If you want some more "power" again if its not vtec, then add the vtec head.. it'll add like 3 whp lol.

If you wanna do cams, do them. They shouldn't be too hard if you know what you're doing, but you don't seem like you are. Now, with the auto, if you did want to turbo it is possible.. keep it around 180-190 whp you'd be fine.. they can handle up to 230ish. same internals as the v6 accord.

for other stuff.. do the maintance and keep up on it. there really isn't a cheap way to make you're car faster.. especially if your not willing to work on it lol.

1st off its non-vtec lx...no I know what im doing...kinda. just like I couldnt do a k22 engine swap on my own.lol uhm the turbo idk costly and i would have to take it to a shop...maybe. uhm cams I could do yeah uhm *note* ive done all the work so far on my own with no help.. exhuast that didnt fit right, CAI, koni yellows on some eibach sport lines. front strut tower bar. uhm but I also do all the work to keep my car running, new alternater (sp?) cahnge oil (drain and replace) replaced break padds. but yeah idk im no expert though. But thank you very much for the info, greatly appreciated. haha some of those are so easy I could do with my eyes closed...CAI and the oil.lol im runnin steels with covers still lol i want some rims soo bad. but kinda a waist of $$$

Well.. im thinking if you want some performace, get the EX stock header, same thing as the dc sports/anyone else. just not as pretty. slap the vtec head on for better gas mileage and a little more performace. slap the rear brakes on there from an ex as well while your at it haha. throw some cams in the head while you're doing it and you'll have a peppy little car.

junkyard, or look on craigslist.org for someone parting out an ex. i bought an ex for 500 that had front end damage and made over 1500 parting it out.

then you will need to get a tune. and a reason for them. if you're just dumping more fuel into a stock engine then you're just running rich

adjustable cam gear + stock cam = waste of time/money ... but hey it'll look cool lol

ok you already have an intake, a catback ... finish it off with a header i wouldnt go oem ex personally ... my aftermarket header made a difference on my ex ... but i have a f23 ... im not very familiar with f22's ... if you dont want to go internal then like mentioned get a vtec head and i would suggest a vtec controller ...
