My baby's for sale.
1997 Honda Civic EX coupe
5-speed, non-ABS model
172,291 miles EXACTLY on the car (cluster is removed and swapped as of last year, but I've been tracking the mileage since then because I don't want it to be a TMU title)
A/C removed
P/S removed
Cruise control removed
Airbags removed (although I have both airbags, and the stock steering wheel that will go with the car)
Autozone front brake rotors & Hawk HPS pads installed, great shape
H&R Sport springs with Tokico Blue shocks
MOMO Tuner steering wheel & MOMO hub
Pioneer DEH-7300 CD deck (I can't eject the CD though, my favorite Little Brother CD is stuck in there playing lol)
Rockford Fosgate 6.5" component speakers
Cerwin Vega 6x9" rear speakers
Two-tone black/red custom leather interior, with GSR black leather armrest, GSR shift boot and GSR shift ****
Interior's in GREAT shape, very clean dark grey door panels, etc. Exterior's in good shape as well, no typical Honda 1/4 panel rust, paint's in EXCELLENT condition. Passenger-side fender and side skirt are slightly damaged from minor accident, but I bought a replacement red OEM fender and I'm sure you can bend the side skirt back in place.
The car needs the following to be complete:
- Complete engine swap (including mounts, ECU, engine harness, etc...I know of a complete D16Y8 swap for $750 or so - I will NOT swap it in for you)
- Complete OEM cat and cat-back exhaust
- 96-00 civic coupe taillights
- 96-98 civic coupe headlights
- Gauge cluster
I think that's about it...little stuff here and there but this is basically a complete car where I blew the engine up, and pulled it out. Plus you don't have to worry about salvage/theft/rebuilt title issues with this car, it's a clean title with no liens.
I am the 3rd owner. The original owner leased it for a year, then returned it to Honda. The 2nd owner owned it from 1998 - 2001, and his girlfriend drove it nicely. I bought it with 73,000 miles on it for $8,600 in 2001, and it is my first car so it's got some sentimental value to me.
There's probably other mods that I forgot about, but I'll update this post as I remember them. If you need B-series or turbo-related parts, check my Turbo B18C5 Part-Out thread and I can work out a deal for you. The price will depend on what you want with it. You can save about $300 by buying the car without the leather seats, and find stock 96-00 civic cloth seats for under a hundred bucks.
Price with leather interior and Si cluster: $2,100 FIRM
Price with leather interior: $1,900 FIRM
Price with Si cluster and no seats: $1,800 FIRM
Price with seats removed: $1,600 FIRM
I'm in no rush to sell, as I know that if I wanted to, I could simply swap in a D16Y8 and sell it for $4,000 or more! I see 96-00 civic coupes with 200,000+ miles going for that and more, due to the crazy demand for Civics and Integra's with high fuel prices!
Heck, you could buy my car, spend a few hundred bucks putting it back to 100% stock, put in a $500 D16Y8 swap and sell it for damn near 100% profit! More power to you.
PM me if SERIOUSLY interested (aka, I have a trailer and cash in hand, and I want to pick up this car). CASH ONLY, I don't do payments or trades of any sort. No offense, but if you contact me with dialogue along the lines of "yo man, when can I check out ur car? I gotz a D16Z6 I could put in, it just needs sum tunning" etc...don't be surprised if I ignore your dumb-***.
Reason for selling: I'm getting out of the Honda game, no more worrying about dumping thousands more into this car, theft, ricers, etc...
Pics as she sits today:

Random pics when she was running nicely (~300whp on 9-10 lbs. of boost):

Again...PM me if you're SERIOUSLY interested and have cash in hand and a way to tow the car home. I am not looking to have my time wasted.
Thanks for looking!
