Default HALP, what could it be?

Ok not sure if I asked here or not but here it goes, I have a mini-me in my 91 crx si. Its a y8 head on a z6 block with stock si trans. When I attempt starting it in gear it jerks forward? The clutch is from a 91 hatch so I know its right, and I lubed the trow out bearing before putting it back in so I know its installed. I haven't been able to check if the cable is stretched but it doesn't feel like it is, and it pulls the release arm up. I haven't been able to pull it a part, but when I do what should I look for?

did you tighten up the clutch cable enough to remove the slack in the release fork?

What I did was have someone press the pedal down and then I tighten it all the way. There is no more adjustment space.

why would you tighten it with someone depressing the pedal?? Thats only going to make it harder to tighten, and it wont accomplish anything. If you take the clutch cable off you should be able to move the release fork a set distance very easily by hand.

In the image to the right. Thats about where the fork should be sitting after you tighten the cable by hand. And while you're tightening DO NOT have someone pressing on the pedal. also that is a b-series transmission, but you get the concept behind what i'm sayin.

Besides the cable being adjusted in the wrong way, its as tight as its going to get and pulls the release fork up. It seems my best bet is to drop the trans....
