wel i can answer that question for you.
yea theres obviously a power difference cuz your not only running a race header, but the deletion of the cat also alows for more power. and the sound is a different. under normal driving conditions, 3k and under sounds the same as it does stock, but once you go above it starts to get a hollow sound which is most noticeable at 4k. most people tell me its a clean, nice, and crisp hollow sound. and when u hit vtec, its just plain out loud. people have told me it sounds like it does stock, but just louder. not as loud as a fart can. also another thing too is the horrible smell of pure exhaust your gonna get cuz the header does delete the cat. and the option to run a high flow cat is going to require that you cut a part of your header unless you get the o2 sensor sub-harness extension

HeadeR. Singular. 4 cyl. cars have a "HEADER". V6, V8, V10, etc. have "HEADERS".

Anyway.....yes there is a noticeable difference in power. The race header eliminates the catalytic converter....one of the most restrictive components of the car's power output. I can't give you an exact number as far as gains but you'll definitely notice a pick-up in power. My 1/4 mile time dropped .4 seconds and my trap speed increased by 5mph over stock. May not sound like much....but for a couple minor bolt-ons it's pretty significant.

No significant difference in sound. I think that comes mostly with the addition of an intake (SRI or CAI).

What was supposed to be the initial problem with the DC race header (flexpipe?) when they first came out?

Mostly becuse I got one of those way back then, but never installed it.

well the problem was that they kept cracking because people DID NOT HAVE AN ENGINE TORQUE DAMPER OR MOTOR MOUNT INSERTS.

They fixed that problem. I've had my DCRH on for about a year and a half with no problems.

i have a question, im a newb to newer civics, just bought an 08 si sedan today.
i wanted to know if i buy a dc race header and it deletes the cat, is there a way to delete the check engine from the missing cat?
and is there an option to get shorty headers that keep the cat?

That's because it doesn't. It only makes more power at lower RPMs. Short rams typically produce more power at higher rpms than a CAI does. But the overall gain in HP between the two is pretty much the same.

Meh that's what I've come to experience as well because I've had both intake setups. And to me the SRI doesn't pick up at the lower RPMs as good as the Injen CAI did. And on the flip side the CAI didn't seem to pull as hard up top as my SRI currently does.
