ECHC: Bob Woodman tire will be providing trackside support at CMP.
They are a Hoosier dealer.
Woodman and Appalachian have a partnership working, so tires purchased from
Woodman will qualify people for the ECHC Appalachian Hoosier contingency.
We are also currently working on a program to allow Appalachian contingency
awards to be cashed in with Woodman, but this is not yet finalized.
If you need tires, please purchase them trackside from Woodman. As
discussed before, trackside tire support is invaluable to us, but if these
guys don't sell anything and lose money, they obviously won't be back.

I saw the announcement that Appalachian and Woodman will be onsite. I was trying to figure out how you were going to support two hoosier dealers. I guess they're gonna share the business.
i for one can't afford 800 dollars a weekend just for tires.....would be nice but budget for tires is 200 a weekend....brake pads/fluid 50
beer 500....
yeah i think i have my priorities right!
heck i havne't spent 500 on beer in my lifetime!!

It doesn't cost that much (the 800/wknd you mentioned) to run Hoosiers *if* you have enough wheels and rotate your tires intelligently. Strange as it may seem, I am now convinced that picking up those Kosei K-1s is going to save me money in the long run.
Hoosiers.......... On my car last and last.
Unless, I slide them and then they are toast. I flatspotted a new tire at CMP this year and it became junk quickly. $171.00 in the trash.
I have a set on panasports from 1998 with 15-20 track / race days and they are still sticky. They however are about 1 second a lap slower than my fresh set.
Rotate them ................... like Karl said.

Anyone remember the GRM article where Tom Fowler tested the Hoosier, Kumho and Toyo r-compound tires? IIRC the Hoosier was a scant 0.7 seconds faster. But...they just feel so damn nice, it's hard to go back after you've been bitten. And of course this year I went from takeoffs to new ones...wow.
Very cool to have tire support there next weekend. That way when I peel the inside shoulders off in 11-14 trying to catch the H3 crowd, I'll have replacements readily available. Cha-ching!

Not only that, but when you throw weights off 4 of your wheels (like I did at CMP), they are right there to balance them for you.
I know Robert desperately needed this at Summit.
Not to mention that a really bad screw-up that flat spots a couple of tires doesn't end your weekend.

And I believe Fowler was about .7 seconds faster on the Hoosiers. Blind test using the same car and even the same wheels.
