Default Triple gauge and switch mount for center console

A friend of mine wanted a way to get 3 gauges and some switches on the center console of his car. I came up with this. He's stoked.

I still consider myself a rookie with the TIG. The worst part about this is after 4 hours of cutting, fitting, measuring, is knowing that I could potentially melt the thing down and have to start over when I'm 5 minutes from the end.

The longer I spend cutting, measuring and fabbing, the harder I shake when I'm welding it together... ..lol...

nice,

looks good to me.

the metal doesnt look that thin enough to melt it down.

What i generally do after grinding, cutting and other crap, i take like a 20 min break or maybe even longer depending how badly my hand shakes. i usually grab some thing and hold it up and try and keep my hand still as possible from shaking to see if i feel ok or not ok to weld. Or just brace your hand/rest it on something comfortable to prevent the shaking during welding.

Looks good. On something like that where it isn't holding a bunch of weight and took you a while to fab up I would have just riveted the pieces together.

Got pics of where this is going to mount exactly? BTW you look to be really handy with that tig welder. Looks good.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Going to be mounted on the center console of his car, or, as I understand it, the driveshaft hump.

Rivets... hadn't thought of that.
