Hey guys I am new here. I don't own a Honda but....

I have a friend that owns a 86 accord DX with 55k mi on it with a 2.0 carb.
Anyways, I am new to these engines. This car runs great going down the road but idle sucks on it, it vibrates or will sometimes stall. How can I adjust this? I assume it may have alot of carbon build up due to some old guy used to own it and putted around town in it. Any help? It's also failing nox on emissions 3.20 out of 2.50 I wonder if the car has a bad cat. I know some pipe was fixed on the pcv system, then it went to the current nox numbers from 3.54
