I couldn't make it again this year, and our SM Civic and my driving just got to the point where it could keep up with our local Tunnel-monsterBMW clone car! (the Faucett's, they should be at Nats).

Good luck, everyone.

I wouldn't call it major cheating, yes it's against the rules and Andy is paying dearly for a non-performance enhancing fix that is common in engine building. I was in the class and personally don't think the shims that were found gave Andy any advantage.

Andy is lying his *** off. Every cone dodger online is buying into his bullshit. He has been cheating for years.

Scca kicked him out anyway. They made his azz give back all his prize money for the 08 season he didnt forfeit. Basically hes out like trout

Gentlemen, I'm watching this conversation so please be on your best behavior. If you've got facts to back up an accusation, please provide them in an objective uncondescending manner. Otherwise, please refrain from defaming another member or person that is not here to defend themselves.

I expect civil and cordial discussion even with differing opinions or POVs.

SCCA did not kick him out and they did not force him to give back the money he has won. He voluntarily gave back all the money he has won this year out of respect that it should go to someone else who deserves it. And he didn't fight the DQ because he saw it fititng for Tim to get the limelight. From what I heard/read is that Tim drove like a mad-man.

I think he did is most sportsman-like thing to do. How many of you pointing fingers could man-up enough the way he did? Problem with this situation is he is damned if he does the right thing or damned if he doesn't do the right thing. So either way he is going to get bashed.

I met Andy and Anne back in 2004 when I was asked to co-drive at Nationals in Topeka. All the talk about Andy I thought he was 6'9" tall. Then I was introduced to him from Jim Harnish and he was a nice guy (and short) and treated me with respect with what time he could spare.

I have no dog in this fight. And I will say I have had nothing but great dealings with Andy over the years both in person and on-line. I will say that I'm suprised that this slipped thru his fingers. I say this because he has to know that because of all the articles that have been written about and by him all eyes will be focused in his direction (plus he has been popped before its well documented and I will not discuss). I mean he spends thousand and thousands of $'s traveling the country from one coast to the other to compete also buying and testing the latest and greatest tires in many sizes (he does share all of the information he gathers quite openly which is great). But I just had a head refreshed and I asked them did they have any problem. Then I looked it over just to make sure it was done right. Its very unfortunate but it when you compete at the level that these guys do and spend the money that they do you need to make sure that all of your ducks are in a row. Or this kind of thing can happen knowingly or unknowingly.

Remember we're all human - we all make mistakes, miss things, etc, etc. I've been teaching TaeKwon-Do for about 15 years (practicing the art for 30 years) and I still make mistakes myself which is why no one is every a master at anything.

Andy posted an email from the engine builder apologizing for the shims.

Battle2.0Eg, who are you? You got kicked off of SCCA forums for the same unfounded character assassination. Just trying to figure out why you're so bent against Andy and why you don't have the testicular fortitude to sign your posts?

Got all but 3 of 'em for the Nats, and all but one of them for the Pro Finale! The car definitely has pace too!
